Naruto Shippuden: Pain’s Assault (Episodes 150-169;172-175)

The next arc focuses on Naruto and how he deals with the harsh news of a certain someone. We see Naruto training to get stronger and actually go against one of the members of the Akatsuki– Pain.

Things I Liked:

Naruto’s Reaction to Jiraiya’s Death

This was an emotional moment since Naruto really looked up to Jiraiya. I felt it was very realistic on how Naruto handled Jiraiya’s death and really felt that he got stronger mentally after that.

Naruto’s Training

A few episodes after Naruto finds out about Jiraiya’s death, he goes with the elder toad to train. Their goal is for Naruto to achieve Sage Mode. During these few episodes that Naruto was training, it was fun seeing the toads and Naruto interact. We also got a glimpse into Jiraiya’s past, which was really interesting.

Naruto vs. Pain

With Naruto going one on one with Pain, we really got to see how much he had grown and how powerful he got. He managed to basically defeat all of the Pains with minimal help and we got to see his sage mode in action. It was a really intense and nice fight to watch and I really enjoyed it.

Naruto Meeting the Fourth Hokage

In this arc, Naruto also finally meets his father, who turns out was the Fourth Hokage. This was a really touching moment since Naruto was finally able to meet his father, even though it was only for a little while.

Things I Didn’t Like As Much:

There wasn’t much that I didn’t like. I felt it was a really meaningful arc after everything that had happened in the last few arcs. Things are really starting to pick up and everything seems to be falling into place. I’m excited to see what will happen in the future arcs.

What did you think of this arc? What were some of your favourite parts?
