The life of the shinobi is beginning to change. Boruto Uzumaki, son of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, has enrolled in the Ninja Academy to learn the ways of the ninja. Now, as a series of mysterious events unfolds, Boruto’s story is about to begin!
– My Anime List
The episode starts off with Konohamaru, which we find out has become a teacher. He begins teaching Boruto’s class about summoning jutsu and summons a frog, much like something Naruto can do. And it was really fun seeing him all grown up and teaching Boruto, since Naruto was the one who he looked up to and he is now teaching his kid. It was also great seeing how Konohamaru matured and how he is able to do a summoning jutsu just like Naruto once did.
As the episode progresses, Boruto, of course, steps in and proclaims that he can summon animals too. But much to his own embarrassment, it doesn’t happen, because he hadn’t signed the contract yet. This, in conclusion, gets him in a fight with Sarada, which is actually a character that I’ve been waiting to get to know.
If you don’t already know, Sarada is the daughter of Sakura and Sasuke, and I loved her from the moment she came on screen. She is Sakura and Sasuke merged together and has both of their personalities. I think they did such an amazing job on this and loved everything about her in the episode.
She was cold and aggressive, and she was the highlight of the whole episode. I loved getting to know her better and I loved seeing the relationship between Boruto and Sarada before they formed this unbreakable team that was shown in the Boruto movie.
However, their fights do go a little extreme as it eventually turns into a battle. But just about time when Boruto and Sarada are to fight, Shino-sensi (a little bit more about that later) interrupts, which was awful since I wanted to see them go one-on-one with each other.
However, we do see the girls and the guys fight as two teams as they try to get the flag on top of the school. At the end of the fight, apparently Boruto can summon animals, and in his case, he chose a snake. Sometimes I feel like Sasuke and Naruto have their children mixed up and this is one of the reasons why.
In the end, Boruto’s team loses, but manages to save one of his friends, and everyone had a happy ending. Except for the school– it was totally destroyed in all of this…
And we see Shino-sensei and Konohamaru-sensei’s faces. To be honest, I didn’t even realize the other guy had been Shino until someone said his name. Poor Shino. Always overshadowed. But come on, they do look totally different.
And then as the scene is about to switch to the end credits, a figure appears in the horizon. This figure looks eerily like Mitsuki, the character that was friends with Boruto in the Boruto movie. I want to see how he’ll meet up with Boruto and who he actually is.
Boruto is getting more exciting as the episodes get released and more characters are introduced. Suspense is being revealed slowly and it has a good pace to it. I liked learning about all the characters and I think that’s important before the whole series jumps into all this action packed stuff. Since there are way more characters to introduce, unlike the beginning of Naruto, they’ll probably take their time to let us know more about each character first.
I really like this series so far and can’t wait to see more!
