Review (No Spoilers)

Darling in the FranXX was probably the most talked about anime when it first came out in the Winter season. It became such hype that I was drawn in and began to watch it halfway through the season.

I’m not really sure what to feel about Darling. There were some parts I loved, and some parts I think weren’t the best. I didn’t like the first episode as much as other people had. In my opinion, it was too fast paced. My favourite part of the show had to be at around episodes 10-15, where they dove deep about the relationship between the two most important characters in the show. I felt at about then, the world was unraveling a little bit, the plot was becoming more dense, and you got to know the characters more.

However, the episodes following that became very iffy. The show had a lot of potential, but towards the end, it just spiraled down into oblivion. Darling in the FranXX is a decent show, and birthed best girl 02, but had many flaws. It was enjoyable nonetheless and I’m glad I got some laughs and fun out of it.

Plot 3/5 – The plot was a little bit of a mess, and confused me at times. There were some parts that were nice and enjoyable, but there were also parts that just threw information at you at an amazing amount of speed.

Characters 3/5 – The characters were average. Honestly, I only like about 3 characters out of the many of them– including 02 and Ichigo– but the rest of the characters lacked depth. Mainly because the show only focused on about 5 of them, but also because some were just one dimensional.

Art and Music 4/5 – The opening is one of my favourite songs and the art was well done. It had nice effects and pulled together the theme of the anime.
